we ventured out with our ideas splaying in the breeze. our hearts were light. our visions bright. such a time it would be. away from cocooned studios and stuffy cities.
woodford welcomed with clear blue skies and all sorts of alive things. our days stretched far into night. the sweet cool breeze sounded gale-like on the mics.
one day passed and then another. our hearts were aflutter with panic and what-ifs.
and then the wallabies came to visit.
they told us not to worry.
they told us to record at night with the owls.
it gets cold out in the open at night. we cut up socks to warm our hands.
finally, the tunes came.
one by one they trickled out in the moonlight,
as the caravan oven warmed our fingers.
old man robbo tickled our torments
and woodford set free all that was bound.
dawn is a magical time of day.
